1. The happy couple. The pastor said that of all the engaged couples he had counselled...they were the youngest. And of all the couples he had counselled...he felt they were the most ready for marriage.
2. Driving off into wedded bliss under the blue Idahoan skies. The pop cans dragging along behind...and the nicely decorated car were compliments of their friends.
3. The Sand Ceremony. His sand...and her sand...became their sand. Separate...yet together.
4. Cutting of the Cake. Followed by eating of the cake!
5. Janice (mother-of-the-bride), Wenda (her sis), and Aunt Norma (grandmother-of-the-bride). It was so good to see my California relatives.
It was a good time all around! I wish the young couple a long and happy life together. As for Idaho...it's a great place to visit with or without a wedding as an excuse. We'll be back one day...I'm sure.
Enjoy the day...
A wedding is such a good excuse to see family and celebrate family.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but notice that the mother of the bride could easily be the sister of the bride!
We basically did a drive through there ourselves. .and noted it was worth coming back.
ReplyDeleteWeddings are such a great reason to bring the family together. It sounds like theirs was a blessing all around.
I'll add my well wishes to yours.
Great reason for a road trip! I do believe the pastor is correct. Some couples are mature and ready for marriage at a young age and some who are much older are immature and won't be ready for marriage for a long time if ever. Glad that you had a fun time away and now you have me wondering if you're still away.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the happy new couple! I like the combining sand portion of the ceremony, which is something new to me!
ReplyDeleteThe sand ceremony that is new to me - I like it! Nice road trip and I love the porch!
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to take part in our families's wedding. They come in all styles and fashions just as people do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had the ideal road trip...I'm waiting to pack my bag and join you.
Looks like a great celebration. Glad you could make the drive and memories...
ReplyDeleteWeddings and family...wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of the sand part of the ceremony and I like that. Weddings are so special and each so unique to the couple. Seeing family again was an extra blessing. Beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteAll best wishes to the new married couple! Seems they are off to a great start, as the pastor surely knows what he's talking about.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to go. They must be very mature young people. What a blessing to spend time with your USA cousins.:-) Thanks for the hint about Picasa.I will check that out.
ReplyDeleteLovely.....love that little gal peeking to not miss the sand ceremony. Our daughter used sand as well....it was new to me at that time, and I loved it. How nice that you were able to have a road trip with a purpose....celebrating a wedding with family.
ReplyDeleteWeddings are great events for getting together with family. Family, food, celebration and love - all good things.
