I hadn't made it for a long time, not having the requisite Summer Savoury(Pappakraut or PfefferKraut- that's what my mom always called it)so he gave me some that Mom had stashed in the freezer. I made the soup to take on our fishing trip and it was wonderful. Tonight he invited me for Borscht - he's getting to be a great soup maker!Bev Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01270938389792314932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429786372649785047.post-18081060509516828232008-08-23T16:37:00.000-07:002008-08-23T16:37:00.000-07:00The soup looks and sounds delicious. But you can't make green bean soup without it so it didn't take long for me to "import" savory. It's definitely time to make some soup again - even if it's 100 degrees outside. Now if only I had some Mennonite farmer sausage! I hope you have a fun camping trip! I'm sure Ryder's turn will come.Bevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17183404267160772530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6429786372649785047.post-34094286437784698632008-08-22T08:05:00.000-07:002008-08-22T08:05:00.000-07:00This soup makes me wish that I liked vegetables. It sure looks pretty and hearty.

The summer savory is so attractive in the garden that I would grow it for that alone. To have it to add to soups and stews is an extra.

Have fun today with the grands!
