If you have ever sent us a photo greeting card...chances are I still have it. After spending a year on display...it would have found it's way into an album...or a file.
And so...some twenty-five or thirty years later it could show up anywhere on my blog. I'm glad I kept them...what fun memories!
If you happen to know my friend, Linda...you know there is a picture to mark every occasion...and definitely a family photo every Christmas. (Linda never goes out without a camera...and she's not even a blogger!) I'm thinking their family now numbers twenty-two...a little more difficult to fit everyone in the picture.
These friends from long ago...are still friends today. Their family picture now includes in-laws and eight grand children. We blinked...and they all grew up!
And I just had to include this Christmas card from some twenty-five years ago. It came from my hubby's uncle and aunt...and I just realized that a good friend of mine happens to be sitting in the front row...near the right...dressed in blue. I did not know her back then...in fact I just met her through blogging two year ago. How fun is that? I'll let you connect the dots!
So...you might want to think twice before you mail those picture cards...because they may still be around many decades from now! On the other hand...send me your family pic's...and I'll look after them well...and enjoy them.
A lovely flash from the past. It's fun to look through all the old cards...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
What a fun post ...I think I might be tempted to look in my past picture pack. I used to be really good at putting all the past Christmas picutres in albums and then somewhere along the line I stopped. I'd never throw them away though .. that would just seem wrong. The end up added to the pile of pictures of years gone by.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun, Judy. I love receiving Christmas cards which include a picture.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I always keep the pictures, too.
What wonderful photosand how much fun to find a connection in one with a blogger friend ;-)
ReplyDeleteI save all the photo cards I've been sent also, and have almost 30 years worth. It is nice to watch children grow up and begin sending out their own family photos.
This year my card was my husband and myself and our grandson..we took about 30 photos before we found one where all our eyes were open and no one was crying ..lol!
i'm impressed that you would save christmas cards for so many years. i enjoy getting them but only keep family ones! merry christmas
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't surprise me one little bit that you're a keeper of all these wonderful pictures. It's a lot of fun to watch a family grow up and out through the years.
ReplyDeleteI can see just by scrolling down quickly that I need to return...that recipe below looks fantastic...definitely would like to try it.
I smiled the whole way through this post. I smiled because those pictures look so familiar. I have some that look just like them. I like how you keep the pictures you receive. It shows me how sentimental you are, and how you value your friendships. Isn't it amazing how many changes the years bring? Hope your weekend is a good one.
ReplyDeleteJudy, I've been reading your blog for quite some time I was surpised today to see a photo that included my family in it :) That was a very long time ago! Merry Christmas to you and your family...

Hello Judy...catching up on your most recent posts this late evening. (This retail work around the holidays is going to do me in yet...LOL!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway...what a wonderful post with all those years-past, Christmas photo/cards. I've kept so many of them myself.
Loved your mosaic of the family sing-a-long. What great fun and the food my goodness...yum!
Your DIL is so gorgeous Judy, and what a special cake she had.
Always enjoy reading your blog my dear...
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
