of gift shops and cookbooks...

I still think I live in a small town...where nothing slips by un-noticed.  So how is it, that I just discovered this little gift shop over the weekend?

Winks ...on location for four years and it had somehow missed my radar screen.  It's one of those places that smells heavenly...and has room after room chock-full of wonderful goodies for your home...or for your friend's home!  Why...I even found a souvenir from Paris.

It was much simpler bringing it home from the gift shop...than dragging it around from one flight to another a few months ago.

And here's what else I found out.  Winks will be carrying the new Mennonite Girls Can Cook cookbook...just as soon as it is off the press.  So if you happen to live in my community...you might just want to go visit Winks in about a month's time...and leave with a cookbook in your shopping bag.

And for all the rest of you who are wondering where they will be available for purchase...check out Amazon.ca (in Canada) or Amazon.com (in the USA).  The cookbook is now available for pre-order on both those sites.

It's Monday. Have a great day!

Isn't it nice to know that no matter how well you think you know something/someplace/someone that there can still be surprises?

  7. What a wonderful gift shop!

I can't wait to get my MGCC cookbooks! I preordered them from the publisher months ago to show support to the books cause, Judy. One copy will a birthday gift to a friend.

  8. While I would prefer to purchase the cookbook from Winks, it will have to be Amazon for me. Glad you found it and also such a charming souvenir.

  12. What?! Four years it's been there? I guess when I make it to that part of the country, I am too busy visiting and having fun at weddings to actually find and explore these cute shops! But no worries, it's on my list for the next visit!

  15. I was just thinking about your cookbook the other day and wondering if I could get one. Thanks for the tip. That looks like such a sweet shop. You're right about souvenirs. It's fun to pick up a memory once back in Canada but I do have a few regrets and wish I'd brought a few items back from Ireland as I've not stopped thinking about them.

  16. Great find Judy - I visited it for the first time one week before you, after hearing about it from a friend for a couple of months. And the best part is, the owner is an ex-dairy farmer:) I love their store, they carry all of my favorite home decor lines at one place
