My friend through all the seasons of life...
is celebrating her birthday today!
She has actually been celebrating for a long time...
but today is the day.
And I wouldn't want to forget that.
I met her back in the eighth grade...
and we became fast friends.
We had much in common.
We both liked sports.
We were both farm girls.
We were both a little crazy.
She was crazier than I though.
Just saying!
Just saying!
I would never have thought of riding down hillside paths in a wheelchair at the lovely Butchart Gardens...
were it not for Marg.
Let's just say...
we had a hard time keeping the wheels on the road!
We got ourselves into a fix a few times back in the day.
We went our separate ways over the years....
but always had a lot to chat about when we would meet.
And these last few years...
we've been meeting a lot.
And we still haven't run out of things to chat about.
And she's still a little crazy!
Her favorite season is...
SNOW.
She's prefers to slide down hills...
but finds other ways to amuse herself if there are none.
Actually...
I think her favorite season is tennis.
And the fresh fruit season is right up there as well.
signing cookbooks...
cooking up some fun...
...and most recently, celebrating our milestone birthday together!
She is a wife, mom and Oma...
who puts her family first. But I know her as a very good friend...
one who is there through the good times and the bad.
Awesome tribute to an amazing friend. Thanks for letting us have a glimpse of the fine woman Marg is... and Happy Birthday to her!
ReplyDeleteThat was lovely - right from the heart. You're a good friend to your good friend - and I wish her a wonderful birthday...and the two of you many more years of being just a little crazy!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute you your old friend and my new friend! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice tribute to your friend. I'm sure she was touched in reading it!
ReplyDeleteGood to have a crazy friend :-)
Hugs!
It's so true that the more time you share with a dear friend, the more time you want to share and the more you have to talk about. You're creating a lot of shared history. So happy real birthday to Marg!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of Marg with the cow made me chuckle! :) She really does have a good sense of humour, and I know she also has a very serious side so she is a friend you can count on through thick and thin! I'll go over to her blog to wish her a very happy day, Judy!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have a friend who you have so many things in common with. Neighbourhood, Tennis, Farming, Cookbook signing's, Birthday's Walking etc.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute like others have said. She is a special gal for sure.
Martha
A very fitting tribute! Happy Birthday, Marg!
ReplyDeleteYou have indeed honoured your dear friend! What a precious gift from God to have a friendship like this one! Wishing you both many many more youthful years!
ReplyDeleteYes, we have shared many moments together. Thank you for the tribute...and it,s fun to share these moments with someone else who seems to enjoy them also. I was just thinking back to how nice it was to quickly drop in at your house on Friday and have a quick spot of tea wIthout fussing. We just seem to pick up and go from wherever and that,s made the ride so easy. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLovely post about your dear friend. Life-time friends are truly special and rare!
