We took a trip down memory lane this weekend.
It took us past places where we once lived.
Where hubby grew up.
Where we lived with our young family.
Where the ferry used to cross the river...
and the bridge now stands.
By the experimental farm where we used to go for picnics.
Past cousin Loretta's place on the other side of the river.
Past the old railway station...
and the museum in Harrison Mills.
...where one can see the churning muddy waters and the farmlands beyond.
Memory lane was a good place to be...
on this long-weekend Saturday.
Especially for Vern and Martha (hubby's sister)...
who were visiting from Kelowna...
Mr. and Mrs. Willms.
Married in Chilliwack, BC on May 18, 1963.
They haven't changed a bit...
have they? :)
When our trip down memory lane came to an end...
we took them to Milestones for a celebration dinner.
It seemed the appropriate place to go!
They are celebrating with their family at Harrison Resort for the next few days.
Congratulations, Vern and Martha on reaching this milestone.
Blessings to you both as they carry on down the trail from here.
The past is a diary of God's faithfulness.
Take a long look back and remember.
'Till now the Lord has helped us.'
1Samuel 7:12
What a beautiful tribute! The "Might Fraser" holds many memories for sure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I know I say it too often, but you truly live in the most beautiful place I've seen. It's so tranquil looking. Fifty years is quite a milestone, congratulations to the happy couple! "The past is a diary of God's faithfulness" indeed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the blessed couple! Fifty years is a wonderful milestone. No, they haven't really changed very much at all. Just as cute as evah!

ReplyDeleteGreat photo's Judy and such a special way to celebrate 50 years!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of your drive down memory lane. I love the smiles on the bride and groom then and how they are the same now. Such a treasure to have fifty years of marriage.
ReplyDeleteA fun drive and visit back to the past. One can still see the same look in their faces from 50 years ago. The celebration sounds wonderful. Blessings to them. Pam

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Vern and Martha! Driving around places from the past is a fun way to spend a few hours. We've visited the monastery on the hill - such a beautiful place, with a great view.
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect outing with your family as you drive along and cherish the moments. And they have obviously chosen the best destination to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteHoping the weather perks up for them.
It was a wonderful couple of days with my Elmer and Judy. They are so hospitable and we enjoyed a fun drive reliving past & present memories. Milestones a dinner place so well chosen! I am so grateful for a loving husband to have shared these wonderful years with. God's thumb print is certainly all over them. We have been so blessed. We carry on with our hand in his as we move on to this next phase of our lives.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Martha
A reminder that we need to go up to the monestary sometime...
