Costumes, cousins and candy galore...

Before the sun had set in the west...my only Hallowe'en visitors came calling.

Why, it was the queen bee from next door and her three munchkins...the cat, the dog, and a monkey in tow! The monkey could hardly wait to get into his bag...but they needed to rush off. We were all on our way up the hill for the annual costume party at cousin Ranen's.

The Emperor and a friendly dragon named Ranen met us at the door...

...while Cleopatra was busy in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on the pizza buffet.

And mommy zebra brought her baby for the first time...baby zebras prefer to sleep through such events.

What fun the kids all had...well, the big kids as well! Ranen was thrilled to have 'everybody here'...cousins from both sides of the family.

By the time a group picture was suggested...a few costumes had been tossed into the corner, not to be retrieved again in 2008. There may be a lot of dark things happening on Hallowe'en...but here there was fun and laughter...cousins and candy...and did I mention the Canucks game in the corner?

Happy November to you all....

  1. Oh I loved this. . .it was so fun. I agree with you when you said that many dark things might happen but when costumes and cousins and candy get together. . .everyone has a wonderful time. . .
. . wait a minute. . I didn't see you and your rarely seen husband in your dress up. . .or are you exempt by the buying power of purchasing the goodies?

  4. Too cute!! what a fun time!!
You mentioned hanging the map- we will be mounting it on the wall and framing with painted molding cut to fit- a neat and easy way would be to use upholstery tacks too!!

  6. How cute - it looks as though you all had a lot of fun. what a gift to have a family that are also friends. I do envy you a tiny bit about your evening visitors. Our grandkids are too far away to come trick or treating to Nana and PopPop's. We did get excited phone calls describing their costumes and pictures the next day that were worth waiting for!!
By the way - have a wonderful holiday. I think you and your DH have earned it.
