move over Rachel Ray...

Chef Marg took centre stage last night...and together with her most capable assistant, cooked up a buffet of yummy appetizers.

Stephanie ~ Marg

Marg is often out hiking, biking or watching basketball...but who would have thought she would become the queen of quick appetizers? That was one show I couldn't pass up!

I'm not so good at reading flyers...most advertisements are lost on me. Hubby, on the other hand, tends to pay a little more attention to the 'junk mail'...and it was he who pointed out a big ad for 'Chef Marg' and her cooking demo at the Grand Pappy's Furniture Christmas Extravaganza on the evening of November 19. I had a good laugh...and circled it on my calendar...and showed up last night just to be sure there was someone there to sample her cooking. I knew from past experience that any of her offerings would be worth sampling.

What a fun time! If they never sold any Frigidaire appliances last night...they certainly could have sold cookbooks. My favorite was the Artichoke and Roasted Pepper Dip...definitely worth checking out.

I couldn't hang around the appetizer table all night...and I already own a kitchen full of appliances from Grand Pappy's...and so I wandered about with the crowds. Just to look!

I really did need new cushions for the couch...and what better time to buy them then now?

Have a great week-end!

  5. It reminds me since you mentioned Rachel Ray, I saw an interview with Martha Stewart and she does not like Ms Rachel Ray. I think she is her big competition. Martha commented on her cutesy, sexy personality. Martha said that is not me. No it isn't.
My daughters rave about Rachel. Your foodies look wonderful. Love the cushions too.

  8. Chef Marg does not want to see the kitchen today. It was so much fun to see the supporters for this event.
Grand Pappy's had a very successful evening and thanks to my Paparazzi for making this event special with her photos.
My side-kick Steff asked me, "Who is that lady taking pictures? It looks like she would like to jump in and help." You would be excellent at this Judy.

  10. What fun!!! Love that your took pictures, Judy! I can see Marg just lovin' it - nothing to be nervous about, right, Marg? Love that dip!! Live I said, be careful where you place it. If the cook is busy she won't even get any lef tovers to try . . . so be the first to sample.
Judy - I really like those cushions - I'd like those exact same ones! Did you take them all?

  12. I managed to get in on the fun for a few minutes before having to leave for care group. Marg looked so good in her Santa hat and the food looked and tasted good enough to be served at a top notch restaurant. My only regret is that I didn't get one of the recipe leaflets. I may have to get you to email a copy to me. You took some great pictures, Judy and I love your cushions.

  13. What a fun thing for Marg to do! She looks right at home in that furniture store's kitchen doing her demo, and her appetizers look delicious! I do remember that dip in the "Mennonite Girls Can Cook" blog which has been growing by leaps and bounds! I hope a publisher will make all of your ladies famous someday when they publish your recipes, and I'll be in the audience to see you as guests on Rachel Ray! :-)
