Delight yourself in the Lord
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4 NIV
A new year is always a good time to take stock.
I have a short list of resolutions...very short!
But this I know...if I have only one resolution it should be to 'delight myself in the Lord'...then the rest will fall into place.
He has my best interests at heart...He will lead and guide if I let Him...He will give counsel and direction.
If all else should fail in 2010...He will never fail.
And so I choose trust in God rather than fear the future...and I look forward to what great things He has in store for me.
A hearty amen to that! I think you've been put to the test, Judy, so I can trust what you say.
ReplyDeleteAmen Judy!!
ReplyDeleteAmen! My mum always reminded us that fear was a lack of faith, and that faith was a gift that we needed to nurture. Reading your Sunday posts nurtures!
ReplyDeleteAnd another Amen - no resolutions for me, but the idea of resolving to delight in the Lord, so He can show me His Way is very attractive.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Faith & family is all we need.
ReplyDeleteI was typing AMEN and I saw Ellen's post....well...I second it!
ReplyDeleteThere is no better place to rest than in our Heavenly Father's loving care. As I face this new year ahead, that is where my peace lies. This was a beautifully shared post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good word, reminder.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution (goal) is to "guard my tongue". But it has to flow out of the right heart attitude, as you said. Everything does. Thanks for putting things in perspective.
