a postcard from waterbury, vermont...

Where it all began for Ben and Jerry's back in 1978...
Waterbury, Vermont.

We toured the plant...
and had a 'wee snack' before we left.

Cherry Garcia...for him.
Strawberry cheesecake for me.

We asked for 'small'.
When we saw them...
we knew there was no way we could finish them.
We did!
No need for dinner after that.

Today we are crossing through New Hampshire and on to Maine.

Until next time...

  1. Yummy! Chocolate peanut butter seems to always be my favorite! Would love to see the States that you are visiting, Can't wait to see more of your pictures! Travel safely .

  2. Oh yum! Both the ice cream and the area you are visiting.

  3. I'm shocked that you could get near the place. We opted out when we tried a few years ago. Parking in the back forty on a hot summer's day was not too appealing. We did enjoy our tour immensely on an April day when five other folks made the tour with us. Happy Trails!

  4. Mmmmmm! Have you had a lobster roll yet? Think of me when you do!
Heading for the hospital, as the action has started.

  5. I just got caught up on your travels thus far. Looks like a great time and the ice cream looks pretty good too.

  6. I have an idea who you are goig to meet in Maine! have a wonderful time and give her a BIG hug from me!

  7. That looks like a worthwhile place to enjoy..looks like you should bring that bus out to Chilliwack and set ip a market. Have a wonderful time.

  8. That's small, eh? What a fun stop. There are a few fans of Cherry Garcia around here, too.

  9. Mmmm. Trying all the local foods is one of the best parts of a cross-country journey!

  10. You are wayyyy out there! I did not know you were going clear across the States! Take care!

  11. Hey...you could have come here..I have several varieties of Ben and Jerry's in my freezer right now. Somehow I think that eating it there would win out! We both enjoyed this one.

  12. That looks like a fun place to stop for a treat! I love ice cream!!

  13. What a great picture of you two! Looks like so much fun!
