Well here's the good news...Jesus Christ is our Light in a dark world. He gives us the courage and strength to face whatever challenges we are up against. He gives us His peace despite the harshness and realities of this life.
He does not remove us from the stresses and sorrows of this life, but in the middle of the conflicts and challenges we face this Christmas, He gives us His peace...he gives us hope...He is our Light.
Christmas is not a retreat from the real world...because of Christmas we can face the real world with our Prince of Peace. Let's allow His light to lead the way in the darkness.
You are right Judy, in the midst of a dark night, Jesus was born. He is Emanuel, God with us. He is our Peace. The Prince of Peace. I am facing some serious health issues in the new year - Isaiah 41:10 says "So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righeous right hand. (I wonder why it mentions God's right hand) There are so many verses of great promise in scripture that we can cling to in times of difficulty. Thanks Judy, I needed that reminder.
ReplyDeleteLove you always. Martha
That gorgeous moon woke me at about 3:30 this morning...it was shining on my face so brightly.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about this very thing lately...He's not going to take us "away" from it all; He's going to take us "through" it all. Very different!
Thank you for your wise words. I always love spending time here.
I love this picture...it has captured the essence of what I have been seeing most recently on my compute to Hope and back, usually in the dark....sometimes it is like the crisp white of the snow on the mountains speaks of the Creator, and a peace floods my soul. Such a great reminder of "God with us!" Thank you for sharing! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas Season. Elma
ReplyDeleteAmen, Judy!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing us to the hope of Christmas.
Merry Christmas Judy, aren't we the luckiest people in the world, having our Sweet Lord's Birthday just around the corner, living in this great land (and praying the polititions don't distroy it...I've it all in God's Hands...
ReplyDeleteHope your Christmas is all you want it to be
