Dear Valentines...

I've always loved Valentine's Day...a special day to show love! And since I find it hard to part with cards, I didn't have to look too far to find reminders of Valentine's days gone by.

This valentine card was given to my hubby by a cousin more than fifty years ago.

...and a personalized one from 'mom & dad' with a puppy puppet inside.

Happy Valentine's Day to a fine uncle in 1972...

...and Auntie Judy too! Love, Robbie and Heather

And then my children began receive special messages of love...

To Jeremy... With Love, Uncle Ron & Auntie Mare

Dear Kris... I am sending this card to remind you I still think of you and miss you! Maybe you can persuade mommy and daddy to bring you to visit me. Say hi to Smokey. Does your boat still swim in the tub? Are you learning how to tie your shoes yet? Love, Auntie Kathy

To: Jeremy & Kris...From: Billy (that would be Uncle Billy!)

And then there are all the special cards given to us by our children over the years. This one is signed... I love you! Heidi

Valentine's Day is not just for those who have a 'special someone' in their life! We all have lots of special someones in our lives...and what better excuse than Valentine's Day to tell them they mean a lot to us?

So today I would like to send a valentine to all of you who are so special to me...my wonderful family (hubby, children, grandchildren, dad & stepmom, sisters and brothers and in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts) and friends old & new!

This card was sent by a dear aunt in 1957...that's vintage!

A Valentine may love you for a lifetime, but God loved you before you were born and will love you for all eternity!

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. JEREMIAH 31:3

Happy Valentine's Day to you...

  2. Judy, you save only the good stuff. Great cards, great memories. I got the best valentine of all - I was to be in VGH for surgery today - instead I am at home in Kelowna. My tumor has decreased by 2/3rds the size without any treatment. The Neurosurgeons are baffled and left without answers. Thank you for your prayers. To God be all praise and glory!!! Martha

  4. Loved wandering down Memory Lane with you. The homemade one from a sweet little girl must be the dearest of all.

My sister used to recycle cards. She gave the same Valentine's card to her husband for over 12 years and he never knew the difference. She figures that it saved her at least $36. LOL!

Thank you for sharing that wonderful scripture with us.

  5. Vee...I had to laugh about that. Maybe I am somehow related to your sister???? I am a great recycler of cards for my hubby! I told him this morning he was getting a brand new one this year (how special is that?)
