like the birds...

Are they coming or going? They seem to be a little confused...

...but since they are seagulls...and since the rain seems to have settled in for good...I think they are here to stay.

I also don't know if I'm coming or going at the moment! The plan is to head south...in search of a wee bit more summer. But going away always means a ton of things to look after before one leaves the yard...so that's what I'm busy with today.

We are leaving the home fort farm in good hands! With the cropping done for the year...the machinery washed and stored...it seems like a good time to escape. Why...there's hardly a thing left to do, except feed and milk all those cows a few times a day.

Things may be a little quiet on 'my front porch' for the next while! Who knows...I may just check in from time to time.

It rained for most of the day yesterday...but just before total darkness settled in we had an amazing sunset. I grabbed the camera and got a few shots of the birds sailing into the sunset...while the rain poured down around me.

So you all take care, and I'll join the flocks heading south!

  3. Judy, yesterday was one of those rare days that I leave my camera at home. . .sometimes that thing doesn't know when to stop so it needs to stay at home. . .
anyways, the whole way out out to see our kids, there was a double rainbow, the brightest one I've ever seen, I groaned and moaned the whole way. . using my cell phone. . to try to take pictures. .. so, I smile when I see that you caught exactly the sunset I was trying to catch as we came up onto the overpass.
Oh. . do have a wonderful time. . .and yes, pop in now and then to see what is happening at home.
I'll miss your daily posts, but I'll really appreciate them when you return.

  8. I pray you have a great trip. You will probably need to go pretty far south to find summer. It's kind of chilly all the way down in Georgia. You must be excited to go on a new adventure. Don't stay away from your blog too long. Hugs
