the first of the season...

The sun was shining.
It felt like spring...
and so the word went out to the family.

Meet you in the backyard for a wiener roast...tonight!

Those who were free came...
and had a swinging good time!

The grands from next door came for a visit earlier in the afternoon...
and suggested that it would be the perfect day for a wiener roast.

I had to break the news to them that we were planning to have one...
but without them, since they had other plans
.
Ouch!

It seems we'll be having another one sometime soon!

Have a wonderful day...

  2. OH how fun! I'm sure the little ones that missed this one will be eagerly waiting for the next one. Scot and I ate our first supper outside last night too. The views from our balcony were snow covered Mt Cheam and a wiener roast been enjoyed in the farmers field behind us. We have our own planned for this weekend. Love your swings!

  3. What a perfect day for a weiner roast. We (he) worked outside in shirt sleeves all day. Sitting out side drinking coffee is a sure sign spring is on the way.

  7. Yes, and another one right after that, and again, and all through the spring and summer because that's the kind of grandparents you and Elmer are. Love it!

  10. Yes, Judy, it was a beautiful spring day to be outside. Great weiner roast/swining weather! We did some digging in the veggie garden in the afternoon, and the evening stayed wonderful. Yet, when 'E' and I went for a walk at noon, we were bundled up with scarves and toques, as the wind was biting, with the snow still not far away on the near moountains. We get quite a wind on our road! Dairymary

  12. Wow! Spring really has arrived for you. A wiener roast already, what fun! Actually, what wouldn't be fun with views like you have! I venture to guess the littles will soon be invited back for their own wiener roast.

  14. A wiener roast is a fine way to welcome outdoor fun!

Our weather turned cold again..and some snow in the suburban areas. Spring warmth is still keeping us waiting.
