a new title...

We are seeing pink around here these days...
and it's all good!

As of yesterday I have a new title...that of great-aunt.
It sounds good to me!

And my sister is a grandma for the very first time.

And my niece, Lauren...is a Mommy.
How did that happen so quickly?

It seems not long ago that I was out shopping for a wee outfit for my niece
...and she wore it in this photo when she was 18 months old.

Now I'm ready to go shopping...
for an outfit for my new grand-niece.

And once we have met properly...
I'm sure I will introduce her to you all.

Congratulations Lauren and Chad...
and your sweet baby girl!

  1. How lovely! Congratulations on the newest arrival.
Great aunt is not a pretty title somehow, sounds rather Victorian and prim, not like you!

  2. I've never understood that whole concept of being a "great" anything, though I am quite certain that you will be a great great-aunt. (Sorry for muddying the waters there.) Congrats to the entire family! Your niece was/is a little cutie-pie and your sister must be very excited to be a grandmother.

  6. Baby girls - what gifts your family is getting! A new title to add to the ones you already hold - well, that's good, although the title Great Aunt made me stand straighter when it was conferred!.....there's just something about it!

  10. Hi Judy - congratulations to you. I was thinking of the June arrival when I clicked on a great girl's crocheted hat pattern this morning and then noticed you have another pink surprise. I've printed it out because it's just so cute. You might like to make it.

  19. Popped over from Judy's.... I was interested to find out you're a fellow Canadian. I live in Alberta, but I have relatives in Chilliwack, so it's been often a holiday destination.

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places.
