Last week did not go as planned...for many of us. Our oldest son was in a motorcycle accident in Kelowna...which happens to be some three hours over a mountain pass from here. He had a badly broken femur...and spent a few days waiting for surgery. Lisa took Micah with her and went to be with Kris in Kelowna...Ranen came to Camp Grammy's for the week. Yesterday Kris made the trip home by ambulance.
Home comes with a few complications as well...since home involves stairs. His new room is now the living room...complete with hospital bed and bedside table. Ranen has furnished his quarters quite nicely...complete with books, candies, candles and a 'get well card'.
We went to see him last night. Hey...he looked much better than I expected. He says he is one titanium rod and three pints of blood heavier than he was one week ago. He has high hopes of being mobile before too long. I'm wondering how his private nurse will fare. She may just be wishing for a real job!
Thanks to the prayers of many...and the care of concern shown by friends and family this past week...he is on the road to recovery. That is not always an easy road...and it can only be traveled 'one day at a time'. But we are so thankful that he has been given the chance to walk that road. It's not always that way...with motorbike accidents.
Oh...and if anyone is interested in buying a motorbike (actually two)...I'm quite willing to be his agent while he is laid up. I am sure I could give you a good deal!
