If we see something that works just as slick as can be on TV...
it must be 'just as slick as can be'!
Right?
I don't think I have ever ordered anything from an infomercial before.
But I somehow fell for this one.
And the best part was that if I ordered immediately...
I would get two for the price of one.
Two arrived.
I unpacked one of the boxes...
and found it to be much more complicated than a knife!
I packed it away until I have time to read the instructions.
Whether it really is 'slick'...
I have no idea, as yet!
I'll have at least one 'slice-o-matic' to give away as a stocking stuffer.
Maybe two.
But when I see two of my good friends on Global B.C. News...
showing how easy it is to whip up a hazelnut log for Christmas...
I believe it to be so!
I already knew it was a winner of a recipe...
as I had sampled it in Marg's kitchen on several occasions.
Anneliese and Lovella did a fabulous cooking segment on Saturday's noon news.
If you didn't see it...
just believe it!
Or check out the video right here.
Or check out the video right here.
And if you want to whip up a hazelnut log for your holiday table...
you will find it featured on page 154 of the Mennonite Girls Can Cook cookbook.
Seeing is believing.
Sometimes.
Thank you for the review on the slice o matic. I have been very tempted by that one myself.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the video of the gals on the cooking segment. What fun and what a professional job they both did. They really complement each other as they work. And one of the funniest things to me, a plump gal, is how thin those two are! They're thinner than the host of the program. Now that's rare! PW can't say that. =)
Too funny! I am not a "gadget girl" by any means,,,,but I did get sucked into a similar slicing gadget! I think I used it once...maybe mine was too cheap and you get what you pay for, but I think when we did the kitchen reno, it was packed in the "thrift store " box!!
ReplyDeleteI think I will check out the recipe instead!! Have a wonderful day! Oh, your picture on you header looks great!
I love your new header for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I have seen advertized on TV that REALLY works is the furniture lifter! While I didn't order one form the commercial, I DID find it at our local Dollar General Store. We moved a fully loaded China cabinet not long ago. Just needed to move it down a LITTLE bit - but the thing WORKED!! (The box came with TWO sets!)
The recipe - and pic! - looks delicious!!!
I once ordered a "very simple" whipper upper. It proved to be more trouble than it was worth and I sent it back. I think I could hardly believe it when I saw it and wondered if I had really ordered the thing.
ReplyDeleteSometimes. ..it really is a good deal but I have grown skeptical over the years.
They did a fantastic job! Perhaps there will be s full time TV cooking show in the MGCC future?
ReplyDeleteMy daughter-in-law was just put on a gluten free diet and is lamenting about having to miss out on wonderful Christmas desserts this year -- I am sending her the link to this video to cheer her up.
PS: Everything on an infomercial sounds too good to be true and often is just that..lol!
Okay, I am looking forward to your consumers review on that slicer/dicer thing. And yes, Lovella and Anneliese did a fabulous job on the noon news hour, Marg was too scared?! LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour two friends did a great job on television. And the dessert sounds delicious. And it's gluten free for people who are allergic.
ReplyDeleteI've wondered about the slice-0-matic myself. But now, I think I'll resist further.
Move over Rachel Rae, your two good friends just might have their own cooking show soon. Thanks for the heads up on the "hazelnut roll". I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteI really must order that cook book. It always sounds so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your beautiful home!!
Hugs
