After two very long days on the road...
we arrived home on Saturday evening.
Palm trees and deserts are a distant memory...
and we are back to the views to which we are accustomed.
Since we had missed a few birthdays...
and had a lot of catching up to do...
we decided Sunday night would be a good time for a get-together.
We sang 'happy birthday' loud and clear...
three times over!
It was enough to wake Baby Lucy with a start.
We all had our cake and ate it too...
We sang 'happy birthday' loud and clear...

It was enough to wake Baby Lucy with a start.
We all had our cake and ate it too...
...and Grandpa and Ranen ate all the cherries.
Though we all want a cherry on top...
just because it looks nice...
most of us don't really like to eat it!
It was a good vacation...
and it is good to be home again!
I'll take you back to Yosemite...
the Indian Canyons...
and San Jacinto Mountain one of these days.
Have a wonderful day...
Glad you made it home safe and sound and hopefully refreshed and rejuvenated!
ReplyDeleteGlad you traveled safely and enjoyed your first day back. That foto of the red trees with Mt. Cheam and Lady's Peak is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJudy, the Grandchildren looked very pleased to have their belated Birthday party at Grammy's house right away.
ReplyDeleteYummy chocolate cake with a cherry on top.
Martha
Looking forward to seeing more of your California photos!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! Looks like your grands are happy to have you back. We don't have many cherry eaters here but it's fun to have one on cake or bobbing in a Shirley Temple...
ReplyDeleteLove it! Home and back to the routine. I bet they were all excited that you were home and that was enough cherry on top for any one of them.
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I would call a wonderful welcome home ... gorgeous autumn views and 3 birthdays to celebrate! The cake looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to be home? I'm sure the grandchildren and their parents were very glad to see you - and to celebrate 3 birthdays all at once!
ReplyDeleteI love how you write on the plates!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you could make up for lost time in no time! The smiles tell all!
I'm also away...again! It has been a fun fall full of trips! Glad you are home safe and sound and had a triple birthday celebration! I would have eaten the cherry on my piece of cake --I like maraschino cherries :0
ReplyDeleteI imagine you clicking your heels together and chanting 'there's no place like home'!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back - what a great Grandma you are, baking and hosting as you arrive home.
Oh Grandpa and Ranen get the best part! I'm finding it odd that you could be home again already and here it is two days (three?) beyond Saturday. Time is really zipping along.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home....
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet celebration you all had!
Hugs!
Good to see the red cherries looked like that rather than the ones that may be stopping your quick excursion home. Welcome home to beautiful weather and family and friends.
ReplyDeleteHome Sweet Home!
ReplyDeleteI count it a privilege that you gave us the joy of going with you on your trip. I personally enjoyed every picture.
ReplyDeleteYour party looks like so much fun and I am sure they were excited to have you come home again. I like the cake with all the cherries:)
