the good ole summertime...

The days are long.

Early to bed and early to rise...
no longer applies!

And so the grands came with us for an evening visit to Harrison Lake...
just a short drive away.

The walk around the lagoon...
became a jog....
with lots of side-trips.

The lagoon was my favorite swimming spot back in the day.
Now it is home to a large gaggle of Canada geese.

They may be beautiful...
and entertaining...
but I'd rather not swim with them!

Ice-cream is the perfect way to end a summer's day.
Right?

The geese followed us around the lagoon...
watched while we ate our cones...
and did a little begging.

Sorry...
we don't share ice-cream!

Dusk at Harrison Lake.
A good place to be....
in the good ole summertime!

  2. Does Elmer always eat TWO ice cream cones? LOL

So what flavor are the majority enjoying here?

Great to see this gaggle of grands featured once again. They used to be the regulars and I've missed them!

    1. Vee....you really notice everything. He's holding my cone...while I hold the camera. He wasn't at all interested in a mango ice-cream cone...so it was safe in his hands! The girls talked me into having mango...since it is their favorite.

  3. You have the most beautiful destinations close to your home. I think it's great that you take advantage of them by visiting them often. And by sharing them with us!

  4. Oh that is a perfect spot and so nice it is just a quick drive for ice cream for your fun grands! It all looks quite relaxing as they sit on the park bench.

  8. Your grandchildren have grown so tall this summer, Judy!

I don't think I'd like to swim with the geese either, but they seemed to enjoy your visit.

Mango ice cream sounds interesting --did you like it?

  10. That's one of my favourite spots, but I've never been there at dusk. In truth, only at lunch time! The twins are growing up so quickly and your grandson is stretching up too!

  12. Judy, that is a great bunch of icecream eaters! I joined my sister's family at the icecream/coffee shop there last month for her birthday. Two of her daughters, and a cousin work there. Dairymary
