october ~ gathering the memories

I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
~Anne with an "e"

Morning fog...and turning leaves.

The final grass harvest of the year...

...all wrapped up and stored for the winter.

A mound of white blooms covering the arbour...

...and fresh snow capping the local peaks.

A Sunday afternoon hike up Teapot Hill...
on leaf-strewn pathways.

Helping Uncle Jake celebrate a milestone birthday.

Heidi hosted us for Thanksgiving Dinner...
where the grands had their own table.
Maggie and Lucy helped with all the prep...
and were the most enthusiastic of hostesses.
We had a lovely time.

On the farm...
Emme and Spencer spent countless hours playing with their nine puppies.
What joy!

And for our fix of fall colour...
we took a drive up to Whistler near the end of the month.
Beautiful in every season!

And those are just a few of my October memories...
gathered and shared.

I concur with Anne of Green Gables...
I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.

As the sun sets on the month of October...
the red oak is hanging on to its leaves.

And we have followed the birds...

Wishing you all a wonderful November!

  1. Beautiful post, Judy! Enjoy your travels.

  2. I concur with Anne too! Beautiful pictures Judy. Oh those cute puppies!!!! Safe travels..........

  3. I love October! You've captured yours beautifully!

  4. Scrumptious! October looks beyond beautiful in God's Country.

Fun to see the twins enjoying the puppies. It reminds me of the days when I had so many puppies to play with. Pure joy!

Speaking of pure joy...hope that you are floating down some happy river somewhere. Enjoy!

    1. Yup...floating down the lazy river in the sunshine with a book in hand! :)

  5. Wow, these photos are so beautiful Judy. I love the ones in Whistler and also the fog laying in the valley over the fields. Blessings, Pam

  6. I always so enjoy seeing your posts that gather up the moments. Enjoy your flight south!

  7. Beautiful October! I think you chatted with my parents at Uncle Jake's birthday. Fun to see him. I hope you're enjoying your time in the sunshine. We drove most of the day in the rain (as far as the WA/OR border for a wedding.)

  8. It looked like a beautiful October for you and your family, Judy. Those puppies must be so much fun for the girls tp play with.--how will they ever be able to part with them? Enjoy your vacation!

  9. October is my favorite month! I'd happily live outside every minute and visit as many places as possible. Even the desert has autumn color sometimes. Let us know if where you go south has fall just now arriving.

  10. So happy to visit here today, and thankful to see October pictures from your part of the country. I like how the first and the last picture are two different times of the day. That last picture is exceptionally beautiful!

The puppies and the smiles of the ones playing with them, are so cute!

It must be a good feeling to be finished with the harvesting, and now have time to relax together. I pray that you will have warm, sunny weather, and time to catch up with all that was on hold.

So good to visit here again!

  11. I'm glad, too!! And glad you share YOUR Octobers with US!! I know you know Texas doesn't have real color! I have always thought you live in THE most beautiful place in the world. I still think so!!

  12. Enjoyed looking back on your October. Those Whistler leaves are amazing!

  13. What great photos of your month of October! I love the bright pops of red in your landscape, especially the last picture you shared. Have a wonderful November!!

  14. So much loveliness! Especially those cute grins with the furry puppies and the gorgeous mountain peaks!

Hope you're having a marvellous trip!

  15. I think you live in the most beautiful spot of the Fraser Valley. I love the openness of the fields. It looks like you visited Whistler in the knick of time because those leaves will have been gone a week later.

  16. What? Did I miss this? I was looking for your photos of PS...but then realized...
Where did October go? Many wonderful memories of farming, family, traveling and a few games of tennis. What will November bring?

  17. Lovely! And, lucky girls to have that pile of puppies to play with! :) xoxo

  18. A great pictorial of a lovely month !! I love October too.

  19. What beautiful photos of a beautiful place in the world... your corner of it!

So glad to catch up a bit with you. It's been ages. I'm really hoping to be around on my blog more these days now that I have more time for it.

    Wishing you a beautiful weekend.....
