It's Sunday...the sun is shining and it's a beautiful fall day.
We decided to take the '47 Monarch to church today. It has mostly been sitting in the garage for the past few years, since we didn't really like getting stranded when we took it out! It didn't want to start when it was warm, so rather than risk being left 'high & dry' we just left it at home. We finally found someone who fixed our 'starter problems' so she's ready for touring and her first big outing was to church.
And yes, she started nicely after church...so we never had to call the kids for a ride!
The pastor had a wonderful message this morning...as usual. He talked about 'the heart of worship'. To quote Pastor Ron, "We don't see the glory of God because we're so blinded by our own brilliance."
Oh what a beautiful old car to go for a Sunday drive and especially to church. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun, maybe when we get Miss Ella up and running next year we can take them out together.
ReplyDeleteTerry just had a look at the car and said . .oh nice . .she's in very nice shape.
ReplyDeleteOh and by the way, what is her name? When we started our truck, I had a naming contest on my blog and chose a name from there. It's amazing how fun naming a car can be.
Miss Ella may have a little more energy than our 'no-name' 1947 Monarch. Our Monarch is all original, so she's a little slow...I gather you are getting a new motor for Miss Ella. The Monarch was a car that my dad restored some years back. I just realized that it is 60 years old...Wow! So maybe it's time 'she' had a name!
ReplyDeleteMiss Mona? like naming a child . . . endless possibilities.
ReplyDeleteThe Monarch is beautiful...naming her Mona is brilliant. Speaking of which, I loved the pastor's quote.
