notes from the desert....

We have spent all week at our desert oasis retreat...only leaving for a trip to the grocery store a few times! Kris, Lisa and Ranen flew down to join us for four days...so we've been enjoying the sun, the water, the peace and quiet...and each other's company.

Ranen proved to be a great traveller...and got used to the idea of having a park and swimming pool right outside the door real quick! Her first words when she awoke in the morning were either 'swimming' or 'park'. Grammy and Grandpa usually took her to the park before the rest of the vacationers began their day.

She's quite independent...I can do it myself!

Someone gave her a zebra floatie...and it became her prized possession.

She also learned the meaning of 'share'...it was quite fun to play with other's toys.

It was in and out of the water all day for Ranen...

...with poolside tea parties to keep her going.

I hung out in the wading pool a whole lot...rather a refreshing place to recline. And while Ranen entertained Grammy...

Mommy and Daddy could take a trip down the lazy river...that only happens on vacation!

Today it was off to the airport and the long trip home for Kris, Lisa and Ranen. We're glad they were able to join us for a short get-away...I'm sure it was just what the doctor would have ordered!

And now that our entertainer has departed, we will have to get down to some serious reading (something other than "Molly Wants More" and "Dexter, Don't Do That!").

We are spending two more days right here...the most lovely spot in this desert and then taking the scenic route back home.

Until next time...
