dual-y celebrated!

And what a fine time we had last night!

We packed up our supper...threw a few birthday goodies in the trunk...

...and drove to our nearest and dearest lake for a picnic.

Hmmm...it seems one of the birthday boys has a new look for the occasion....one he's tried out before, I'm afraid!

No cake this year...it was fresh berry pie, by popular request. The strawberry harvest is in it's last days and the raspberry season is just beginning...so we had one of each. (You can check out the recipe for fresh raspberry pie on the MGCC recipe blog.)

We managed to get the kids back to the table long enough to sing "Happy Birthday" to Jeremy and Tim...and then it was time to frolic in the sand.

Do they come any cuter?

We watched some dragon boat teams bringing their canoes down to the water...
...and skimming off across the lake.
Soon the windsurfers were coming in...
...and the geese were going for one more dip!

Already it seems the days are getting shorter...

...and all too soon we had to pack up the remnants of our beachside birthday party and head for home.

Tim...we wish you many blessings in the year that lies ahead.

You and Heidi are in for the time of your life!

Happy Anniversary to you, Jeremy and Broni...
have a fun celebration this weekend.

So as you see...we had lots of reasons to have a party at the beach.
The days and years just seem to slip through our hands
...and how special to mark the occasions with those who matter the most in our lives!

  5. What an unbelievably beautiful spot to celebrate a birthday in. And on top of that to have a fresh strawberry and raspberry pie. Heaven on earth, to be sure.
You really do have a very nice way of writing and photographing your posts, Judy. I enjoy them very much.
Also, your new header picture should be in a gourmet food magazine. It is beautiful and just looking at it is making my mouth water.
