snuggling, skootching and smiling....

It's been a busy time over here this week...as Maelyn was at Camp Grammy's for her first extended stay.

I have been reminded once again what a big job it is to be a full-time mommy.

I know I am much more suited to being a grammy now!

We took Maelyn on a Sunday afternoon stroll at Minter Gardens...

...and she decided this was her kind of church.

My grand daughters have all been 'skootchers'...not a one of them learned to crawl.

Maelyn propels herself around the house on her behind quite nicely...and in short order!

We had visits with all the cousins during the week...
she finds them most entertaining.

If Ranen can sit in the library and swing her feet between the rails...so can Maelyn.

She played with her mommy's old toys...slept on her mommy's old pillow
...and snuggled with mommy's old kitty.

And she always had a smile for grammy...no matter how sleepy.

She is one sweet camper!

Have a wonderful weekend...

  2. That is so precious. My cousin camp at Grammy's is closed now. Cousin are all too grown up. We do have all girl outings some time. But it is different now. A glass of wine instead of a glass of kool-aid.

  4. I have never heard of scootching before. It looked like some busy days, but she always had a smile.
Now it's your turn to bundle up and have a snuggly sleep, for all those uncounted hours.

  7. Grammy camp...another great idea for me. This little girl is so adorable!! I was sitting here just staring at her and her precious little smile. Love that you share pictures of her and her cousins. Growing up together will be a real blessing.

Hope you have a good weekend!

  8. What a sweetie - and what a lucky Grammy you are!
My two nephews skootched, but my daughter crawled backwards until she got up and walked (forwards, thankfully!).

  9. That is so cute that you have skootchers! It is a big job to be a mommy 24/7. I think I'm going to enjoy the grandma job when God blesses us with a grandchild.
    Have a great weekend...

  10. Maelyn is such a doll! She looks like she enjoyed Grammy camp very much!

I fully understand what you mean Judy about feeling more suited to be a Grammy now! My grandson wore me out (in a good way) when we visited recently. He is crawling and pulling himself up to stand, so I believe he'll be an early walker just like his daddy was. Then it will be even busier days for his mommy & daddy ;-)

  11. Oh my, she is so adorable! And looking more like a mix between Heidi & Tim, rather than just Heidi now, I think. That's funny none of the girls have crawled! Did Heidi?

  12. I love that smile -- that last one. It's her "I know you like me" smile. As compared to the "we're being goofy" smile.

Thanks again for taking her. I can't describe how peace giving it was to know she was with you.
