...and they gazed in wonder!

There are so many places decked out beautifully at this time of the year.

Following a tip from a friend...
we took the grands to see a spectacular place in our community on the weekend.

There were trains coming and going...
dancing Santa's...
the toy shop...
the reindeer and the sleigh...
a miniature church filled with worshipers...
and a beautiful nativity scene.

And in the mailbox...
candy canes for all the kids.

If you live in my part of the world...
you really should check it out!

I'll even give you directions to Joe and Lorraine's.
They are at 9986 Llanberis Way, Rosedale
(right next to Minter Gardens).
Plan to get out of you car and walk around...
you won't be sorry.

I can't even imagine how much time it all took to assemble!

On our way to see lights...

...we passed by this house, which is also transformed by the magic of lights every evening at nightfall!

People go to great lengths to light up the season...
and we appreciate it!

  1. Some people really know how to use the season to proclaim its truth. I love it! Say, have you considered signing up with Mary's Mosaic Monday this week? (hint, hint, twist, twist)

  2. All of the lights add so much beauty to this season. I know my grandchildren would enjoy this visit. In fact, on Saturday evening we took our three oldest to see a Christmas light display too. They also "gazed in wonder".

  3. When I was a youngin', there was a house a couple blocks from us quite like the one you visitted with the grands. Every year held a new presentation, every lighted things moving to the rooftop. Loved the joy a walking by to see what was added, to see the joy on everyone's faces.

  4. I heard that Minter Gardens is all decked out. .I heard about it on the radio and thought you might be found there with your seasons tickets. There are so many wonderfully lit places to drive by. I thought I might take a drive by our local display and wish I had a wide photo lens to capture it all.

  5. My kids love going to the 'candy canes in the mailbox' house each year. The trains are so amazing. And the other house you featured?...that's our neighbours. The kids have been watching Alf work on his display for weeks now, and every evening when the lights come on, they jump for joy!
