wish we could be there...

It's grad time of the year...
with celebrations everywhere.

My niece in Iowa is having a big party this weekend..

...and I wish I was there!

Some of my family...
from Texas and from Manitoba...
along with my sister, brother-in-law and dad from British Columbia...
are in Iowa right now...
helping Kiley celebrate.
They really know how to make grad a memorable occasion over there!

It seems not long ago that Kiley was the wee cherub...

...pictured here.

But the years fly by quickly...
and when we were last in Iowa...
Kiley was already half-way to grad!
And she looked so scholarly...
sitting with Mark Twain along the Mississippi River!

' The man who does not read good books has no advantage
over the man who can't read them.'
 ~Mark Twain

I rather like that quote.
Our talents are useless unless we use them!

Kiley uses hers.
She has never been afraid of hard work...
whether it involves studies, summer jobs, or helping at home.
She has learned that the key to success is effort...
not luck!

Kiley...we wish you many blessings as your journey continues.

Keep smiling!

  10. Judy. .I love celebrating family too and seeing your niece just made me smile. It reminded me of a story that I seem to be reading a lot lately out of the Dora selection where Swiper helps himself to the bracelets. .. but no one really minds because he shares and makes everyone happy.

    Congratulations to your neice.
