a postcard from the Indian Canyons...

Centuries before we ever got the notion to visit Palm Springs...the Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indians settled in this area.  Their communities were in the bottom of the canyons...where there was an abundant supply of water.



We did a little exploring the other day....hiking through both Palm Canyon and Andreas Canyon.  It was a good time!  I'll fill you in...once I have all my pictures 'developed'.  Smile.

  5. It looks so beautiful there! Next time we visit San Diego we hope to take a trip east to Palm Springs and the Joshua Tree National Forest.

  7. Great desert scenery Judy. Andreas as in the Andreas fault...
    I went to college in Redlands, California and we took geology fieldtrips in and around the area. Looks like you are making the most of your time away...

  13. This brings back good memories. A lovely place. We were fortunate to be here the year all the desert flowers bloomed - some for the first time in 50 years. I'll never forget their fragile and incredible beauty.
