so this was Christmas ~ part 1

For the record...
there was no white Christmas in our part of the world this year.

There was however...
a 'near white' Christmas Eve.

I stepped outside to take this photo just before the sun set on the 24th of December.
The blanket that covered our world may not have been snow...
but it was a nice touch!
God is the Master artist.

We attended an early church service on Christmas Eve... where we knew a few members of this particular choir.
They sang.
We sang.
We heard the real story of Christmas...
the one that is not heard much in the hustle and bustle of the season.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

And when the service was over...
we were a hungry lot.
And as tradition dictates...
they all come for appies after.

But before we can eat...
can Grammy just get one picture?

We managed to include baby Lucy this time.
She also sat in a high chair at the table for the first time...
and never spilled a thing!

Another first....
we played Guesstures together...
young and old.
It was a game we used to play at my parents' place at Christmas...
decades ago.
It was good for laughs then...
and now!
Oh...and the guys are better actors than the girls.
Though I question the final score somewhat...
since the guy's team was doing the tallying.

Eventually it was time for everyone to rush off to their beds...
before Santa's scheduled arrival.
And in the morning...
they would all be back to carry on with the festivities.

To be cont'd...

  1. Looks like you had a great Christmas! You have a lot of cuties in your family. And the photo of the ground mist was spectacular. Happy New Year!

  2. I loved your White Christmas photo. Over here we had a very warm rain all day - just right for an after-lunch nap by the fire!

  3. Look at all those sweet grands! Love it. That Christmas Eve photo is magical...

  4. What a fun Christmas eve you had! Your photos are beautiful, especially the children!

    Happy New Year!

  5. Oh, I like Part 1 already! Can't wait for part 2!

  6. Reports of Christmas happiness and photos of beautiful smiling children makes me feel glad!

  7. Love the photo of Christmas Eve but nothing can beat the pictures of grandbabies.

  8. So cute...Ranen's got a good grip on her little brother. I imagine that the twins are very good at helping out with the wee ones. Good times...a lovely evening all around.

  9. What a sweet bunch of grandangels! So beautiful! Love that white blanket photo! Lovely time with family!

  10. It sounds like you all had a very beautiful Christmas Eve and Day! This is a beautiful photo of all your grandchildren, Judy, and the foggy Christmas Eve photo looks so enchanting.

  11. Oh it looks so fun! I love the photo of the little ones all dressed up and smiled that baby Lucy made the effort to be included this time.
The white Christmas eve photo is gorgeous. That is some pretty low fog.

  12. Love your photo of the seven! Kind of familiar!
