Cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you.
I Peter 5:7
A few miles east of my home, paragliders cast aside all their fears as they leap off the mountaintop and take the ride of their life! We watched them this weekend...their leisurely sail down and their soft landing between the freeway and the mountain.
When we turn everything over to God...we too are in for the ride of our life. We are no longer at the wheel...so the worries are no longer ours. I like that! And we are assured a safe landing...no matter how bumpy the ride. I like that too!
And on this rather grey Sunday morning, I'm off to climb Mt. Thom with my daughter. It's right in my own backyard and I've never checked it out...but I hear it is an easy and short hike. We'll be back in plenty of time for the morning service.
Wow Judy...a hike before church! You are my kind of gal....the getting up early part that is...I don't know about the hike. I am sooo out of shape...but getting there!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post today...I witnessed an aerial event yesterday too which inspired me to post a 'lesson' story...I'll do so today if I get past all the recipes I am trying to replicate in my chem kitchen today.
Have a great day..I think the skies will clear later. I'll try a trip post too perhaps. You are such a joy to read in the morning Judy....Have a fun time! Watch out for those bears!
LOL, Trish! Really, Judy, you are going on my list of amazing women. I love your post...letting go of fear is the only way to go. Besides, according to my Streams in the Desert, this life is too big for us to handle anyway.
ReplyDeleteJudy that is so true about turning everything over to the Lord and letting Him take the wheel...I pray that I can get better at that...just keep trying to take the wheel back some times...I hope you and yours have a beautiful Lord's day :)
ReplyDeleteWow, a hike before church. I love it! I walk every morning in the mountains for two miles. It is so invigorating. I shouldn't say 'every' morning, most mornings. Today is was raining, no walking today. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Jeanne
Paragliding..looks so effortless doesn't it? God can have my 'steering wheel'..just don't take me paragliding!!
ReplyDeleteGood post Judy..I look forward to your Sunday morning lessons.
I treasure that ride we're on, and I completely trust the Driver.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture.
Great Illustration Judy.
ReplyDeleteLetting Go is sometimes difficult eh?
How was your Hike up Mt. Thom.
Some day I'd love to hike it together.
I hope you enjoyed your hike!
ReplyDeleteLet go and let God is one of my favorite sayings. I say it alot! : ) It's a nice reminder.
Thank you for the wonderful post!
Jan
Abandoning all and taking a great big leap into God's arms...just like a hang glider jumping off the cliff - I love it.
ReplyDeletelove the post :) God knows I need all the reminders I can get.
