The Sunflower

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.
Isaiah 55:6

Sunflowers...those golden beauties whose name originally meant 'sun responder'.

I am vacationing in the land of sunflowers...rolling fields of sunflowers.

Is there anything quite as striking as that?

There are many flowers that turn their faces towards the sun. The sunflower turns to face the sun completely...leaves and all.

There's a lesson here for each of us. Are we seeking after God...completely?

Note ~ I must add that the sunflowers are somewhat late in blooming this year...I pulled this photo out of my files from another July visit to this same place.

  5. I love your sunflowers. I don't think that I realized that they turned all the way to the sun. What a great analogy about us turning completely to the Lord! I think they are such a gorgeous flower. I hope you are having fun on your trip. Anxious to hear more about it. Happy Sunday!
