also in attendance...

Though it was about the birthday boy...the rest of us had a fun time as well. We chose the right spot and the perfect day for a picnic.  Most everyone else stayed away, since the weather forecast was all doom and gloom.

The Green Point picnic site on the shores of Harrison Lake was developed in 1960...and later became a part of Sasquatch Provincial Park.  Though the waters of the lake are glacial fed...and rather chilly for swimming...they are quite refreshing on a hot summer's day.

We do not remember what a hot summer day feels like around here...so throwing rocks into the water is preferable to venturing in!

The grands know how to do it.  Picnic suppers are meant to be eaten on a blanket!

Baby Lucy enjoyed her first ever picnic...on a blanket all her own.

And when Micah noticed that Baby Lucy's 'chariot' was empty...he begged to get in.  He's not sure what to make of having to give up up position as 'youngest grand'!

Fun and games for all...and even a wee bit of sunshine...on the shores of the immense Harrison Lake on pleasant Sunday in August!

Enjoy your day...

  3. We're certainly having to "make do" this summer, as far as the weather is concerned.

You chose such a beautiful place for your picnic, and what gorgeous grandkids you have.

  4. I sure did notice the cool evening as soon as we got home. It might be really muggy back east but at least the evenings stay warm. I liked that.
I always love seeing your grandkids having fun together.

Fun to see how they all move along at different stages.

  10. baby Lucy has grown already! Micah looked so cute trying out her stroller.
I'm sad you dodn't ahve a warm summer--I am hoping that doesn't mean a harsh winter!

NYC received a record 8 to 11 inches of rain from Sunday into Monday. That would have been ten times as much snow if it were winter!

I ahve my head full of flowers, Judy. I never though choosing centerpieces and bouquets would take so much time!

  11. I am convinced that you live in one of the most spectacular places in all of the country. Who but you all get to picnic besides lakes and in amoung mountains. What a privilege for us that you shared these fun pictures. It looks like the perfect way to celebrate a familly birthday.

  13. Beautiful Lucy and Micah...well, it is tough to be a baby grand for such a few short months. I lasted for about six months so never knew the difference. ☺

The color of that water is such a lovely shade of green. Hope it warms up enough to have some weeks of warm summer weather. May you have an amazing fall to make up for this lost summer.
