and then she was four...

It seems but yesterday that she arrived.

How can it be that she is celebrating her fourth birthday already?
She chose Chinese food for her birthday supper...
and we were quite happy to eat at her table!

And since it was too hard to put candles on a fortune cookie...
we found a cookie-cake for dessert!
If it has my name on it...
it must be meant for me...
she decided.
Only on your birthday do you get to have your whole cake and eat it too!

Maggie...
though these four years have flown by...
we have many precious memories of our times with you.

May you always have that ready smile...
that concern for your sister...
that love for your cousins and your friends.
And may you always desire to please Jesus...
as you do now.

Happy Fourth Birthday.
With love,

  5. I kinda like the Dutch tradition -- on someone's birthday you must congratulate the family members as well.. and who more worthy than the Grammy of the birthday girl ! Congratulations on the birthday of a darling grandgirl ! She is very sweet and growing up so fast !!
