new on the farm...

Grandgirlie came for a visit yesterday...and we heard rumours there was a calf being born over at the farm...so we went over to take a peek.

We arrived after all the drama...and found the calf lying next to mommy...tired from the big ordeal. Ranen wanted to know if it was a boy or a girl. It had just arrived and no one knew the answer to that question just yet.

Ryder and his daddy were at the barn as well...and so the grands amused themselves by feeding the cows some hay. And Bentley kept watch...that seems to be his role in life. He is a barn dog through and through.

As I left the farm, I noticed the eagles had taken up residence in the tall evergreens behind the farmhouse once again.

They look exactly like the two that sat there last year. If they aren't careful, they will soon have names. The grands like to name everything over there!

A wonderful Wednesday to you...

  1. And a Happy Wednesday to you too, Judy. Is that cow going to post her delivery photos on Facebook? :)
The two little cousins in the barn look so sweet, and the big dog's relaxed attitude belies his attentive regard.

  3. That's a great mosaic and tells a wonderful story. I love Ranen's pant leg up and pant leg down look. Too cute! They both must've loved seeing such a new calf.

Those eagles...majestic and magnificent. Do they damage the trees? Have they not heard of a mountain aerie?

  4. I enjoyed seeing the cow barn and the little newborn calf, Judy! I'm sure Ranen and Ryder loved helping out. Bentley looked a little bored but still on the job! :-)

Aren't eagles so majestic? It is so good to see them thriving again!

  5. It must be so much fun for the grands to grow up on the farm. Us city slickers can't offer our kids that. Cute pics.

  11. What a fantastic mosaic inside your cow barn. I love it. Your grands really have a great place to learn about life and living and sometimes letting go of life too.

  13. Real cows and calves has to be so much fun to share with your grandchildren. I grew up visiting my uncle's farm every week, and I often thought I would like to give that joy to my own grandchildren. At this point I do not see that happening. I enjoyed these pictures so much. The Eagles were just beautiful! What a sight to behold.
