I forgot what it was like to be ruled by someone else's schedule. Being at school right on time is rather important...and not being there a minute too soon is important as well (since they don't want to wait outside!). Then after school there were lessons...piano, skipping and karate. In the evening there was homework. My biggest fear was that I would forget to pick them up somewhere at the appointed time.
They had a cake walk at school...and we baked rainbow cakes for the girls to take.
We also celebrated Ryder's birthday (rather belatedly) with a swim in Harrison Hot Springs pool...
...and a wee cake he could call his own.
And last night...we celebrated Valentine's Day, of course. Their mom had left packages for each of them. We had pizza and chocolate fondue...and watched Miracle Dogs.
We've had a lot of fun hanging around this past week...but today they are homeward bound. As for the other three grands...they have been vacationing in the sunshine as well...and are due home soon.
And now...I'm off to spend some time with my sister from Texas, who arrived on the weekend. And by the end of the week...my family from Iowa and Manitoba will be here as well. There's a lot of coming and going at 'my front porch'!
Have a terrific Tuesday...
Isn't it great to spend time with family?! We had a big family weekend just ended, and it so warmed my heart. I enjoyed reading your post as I was basking in the warm afterglow of our weekend. We are so blessed!
ReplyDeleteYou are a busy gal. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBusy, happy times! Oh I find it nervewracking to keep just one little schedule so I can't imagine what your week was like. What fun that you decorate and celebrate and keep everything grand friendly!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a busy schedule! The kids looked like they had a good time!
ReplyDeleteIf you need a break, and you have some time, pleas come by for dessert, it's sinful! Have a lovely day!

Love the monkeys, cakes, and your cute grands. Looks like you gave them a fun week. switching gears from kids to adult guests.....keep up the monkeys.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or has your door been revolving ever since you got that new sign for your porch this Christmas. Doesn't it make you wonder who was there when you were not?
ReplyDeleteI had to catch my breath as I read of all the comings and goings and doings from your front porch. It's a good thing your such a young grandma!
ReplyDeleteOh and I do have to say that I loved the picture of the three holding the cakes. . .just made me laugh. Beautiful cakes.
ReplyDeleteYes,...this year at this time we were coming and going with the activities of the Olympics...and this year for you it's been with family...
ReplyDeleteI love those monkeys hanging in mid air.
I hope you get to breathe through a fresh quick walk today somewhere sometime just for a few minutes.
Judy, I now know what my parents had to deal with years ago when we so blithely left our 3 elementary school kids with them for a month while we were on a work related trip. I can't believe how I thought it would be a breeze for them.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you made wonderful memories for your g-kids to cherish. You are an awesome grammy and now deserve some wonderful sister time.
Reminds me of when we used to leave our kids with my parents ... schedues all written out. It seems like so much more to remember when it's not a part of your normal routine.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures of the kids are fun!
And now... more company. Enjoy and dont worry about us.. we'll just hang out on the porch and wait.
Oh my goodness, you are one busy lady. Family is fun, but sometimes exhausting. I hope your kids had a wonderful getaway. How wonderful that they can leave their children knowing what a good time will be had by all.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy and I expect you all had a great time...its always nice when mum and dad return though and you can now enjoy a trip of your own...have fun!
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful times, Judy! Your grands are getting big and look like they had fun at your home. Enjoy your extended family's visits!
