There were twenty-four of us...and room to spare! We probably could have squeezed in the other 24 who couldn't make it (most of whom live in Manitoba, Iowa, or Texas!)
It was so good to have everyone together (four generations under one roof), because the cousins don't see a whole lot of each other anymore. Kathryn and Adam (my niece and her husband) are out from Australia and Kellen flew home from Winnipeg for the holidays...so we all had some catching up to do.
And this gift from Auntie Heidi and Uncle Tim couldn't have been more perfect. (Don't ask me what it is, but it's one of the biggest sellers at Heidi's shop!) His sisters were thinking it was quite fun also!
And Ryder was quite interested in great-grandpa's gift...maybe Grandpa Baerg would like some help with the hockey jigsaw puzzle!
Ranen cuddled with Auntie Heidi...
...while Jamie and Lauren did the girls hair.
We ate, we laughed, we talked...we played crokinole and ping pong...we opened a few Christmas gifts, and before long the day was over!
It's always good to get together because...we are family!
Just one more story before we go, Auntie Heidi!
Family is so precious!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful time you all had. I love Ryder's hair. Oh so cute.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you have the big farmhouse! You need it!! We have been so cramped for years that we have been thinking of moving our get-togethers to the fire station, but then we'd have to push out the Smiths. Oh dear! The burden of growing families is a delight. ;>
ReplyDeleteI hadn't realized that our grandsons were so close in age. My "big" one will be two in another week or so. Great looking cake!
I know exactly what you mean Judy...family is all. You have a lovely family, I hope all you can get together again soon, hopefully with the ones who couldn't make it this time!
