how many is too many?

This little JD is usually parked in the barn...
and used for pushing up feed for the cows.
It is meant for one driver.

Usually.
Emme and Spencer quite like driving it around...
just for fun.
But they can't ride it solo.
When they skootch forward to reach the controls...
the tractor thinks there is no one left on the seat...
and refuses to budge.
So they always ride double.

And sometimes...
when they have friends and cousins over...
they really load it up.

I'm thinking five is too many!

    1. Pam...those particular grands live on the farmyard. And yes...the others love to visit.

  2. They look happy to me. I just hope they all know how to hang on. What a great treehouse/playhouse/schoolhouse you've created for them. It's simply darling and a deck planter, too!

    1. The treehouse/playhouse was built by Jeremy, with decor compliments of Broni and the girls. They have had a lot of fun in it over the years.

  5. This makes me smile. The other day when Stuart popped in unexpectedly the garden tractor continued to run and when I asked why...he said it wouldn't turn off.
It has since had the farmers overall special.
    Great photo.

  6. I'm thinking that as long as they stick to the "speed limit" and all have a place to hang on... five looks just right! What a fun play space you've created for your grandkids.

  8. Kids get to have so much fun on the farm! I don't think I've ever even been on a tractor. May have to put that on my bucket list.

  9. Our little tractor got a good workout during the wedding week, too. Five, however, does seem like a load!

  10. Perhaps the grands have a few friends who could crowd on too and win a worlds record of most people on that sized JD? Worth a try for braggin' rights!

  11. Judging by their big smiles I would say five is the perfect number.
That playhouse is great. What fun they must have on the farm.

  14. Oh, the wonderful memories that you are creating for the grands. I know, because when I saw this picture, my mind immediately went back to the days I spent growing up on my uncle's farm. What a cute picture!
