oh joy!

The sun shone all day yesterday...
from beginning to end.
It was most welcome!

Everything just looks a little cheerier on a sunny day.
The honeysuckle blooms over at the farm yard...
and  almost obliterates the farmyard smells.
Almost!

After two weeks of rain...
I had no idea what might be growing in the garden.
Who knew my strawberries were ripe?
We had strawberry shortcake last night.

And the first raspberry of the season is about ready for picking!
Tomorrow.

Would another day of sunshine be too much to ask?
It sure would be nice.

  1. No, you can certainly have another day. We have been enjoying our successive days of sunny weather, but it's coming to a screeching halt tomorrow. So soon!

Your photography is amazing as always. Love the honeysuckle photo. The combination of aromas must be very interesting. Now if you'd just toss in a few pine needles, John's quite convinced everything would be very pleasant.

  3. Yesterday was glorious from beginning to end for sure. How fun to have strawberry shortcake from your garden.
Today doesn't look as promising but I'm still holding out hope for a good run of sunny days...

  4. It looks like it will be another sunny day in the valley! I'm in Abbotsford, on my way to a conference in Manning Park - it will be a beautiful drive! I'm thinking that a stop at The Bookman might be in order....they open early!

  5. Well..you must have had more hours of sunshine on your farm than we did on ours since our berries are not ripe yet. It is cloudy here again today...but you are right...the sunshine yesterday made everything seem bright.

  7. I've been looking for raspberries. Seems like you can get them year round and then just before the local ones come in they stop all their orders and there is nothing. Time for strawberry jam soon. Another thing to add to the to do list that I'm scared to start.

  11. Beautiful!!! I cut honeysuckle this morning from my garden.....
However it does not spread its fragrance nearly as far and wide as yours!
    I wish it did!

I vote for one more sun shiny day for you!

  12. There is a strawberry field across and down the road that I walk to but I don't see any signs of berries to pick yet. Soon I hope. I hope the sun shone for you again today so you could pick some raspberries.

  13. I'm glad you had a few sunny days ...Judy! It has also been a very wet spring in my area, and as I just told Vee on her blog, I think my hydrangea bush in my front yard has grown to enormous proportions this year because of all the rain!

  15. Our day was sort of sunny, but with cloudy interludes. And it's still not very warm. I picked a few strawberries this evening, but I'm looking forward to going to a commercial farm to pick, perhaps next week.

I love this season of fruit and vegetables. Your photos are wonderful!

  17. You just make everything look beautiful! I miss honeysuckle and I loved seeing it again. I just wish I could smell it through the computer. Your berries look good too! So thankful that God has blessed you with a few days of sun.

  18. Your strawberry's looked so good they made my mouth water. So I opened a fresh jar of strawberry jelly for the dinner table today.
