my karate kid...

'Getting a new belt' took on a whole new meaning this weekend...when I went to watch Ryder at his karate club. It was testing time...and all those who passed got a new belt!

How fun to watch him and his four and five-year-old friends do the drill!  And when it was all over...Ryder was sporting a new belt and we all went to DQ for a treat. I'm sure his skills will come in handy on the farm...since those calves get frisky at times.  I don't think the white suit will get much use around the farmyard though!

Have a terrific Tuesday...

  1. What a cutie!......but one with some new skills that will come in handy, as you say, with calves - although I am having a hard time picturing the scenario :)

  2. Ryder is so adorable that I can't even imagine his doing a karate chop! Ha! Do you really want him practicing on the calves? ;> As long as it's not on his sisters I guess that'd be preferable.

  3. Ah sweet success. Celebrating the milestones in our grands lives is just so fun. ..and we don't even have to do the work of driving to lessons to take part in the post work parties.
Maybe he will try his hand at calf roping?

  5. Maybe they should join the local calf 4-H club - you need to wear all white when showing your calf at the fair:)
