out to lunch!

So where would hubby choose to go for his birthday lunch? Would you believe...a chicken BBQ sponsored by our feed company!

Several weeks ago he announced that we were going out for lunch on his birthday...sounded fine to me. Then I discovered that the feed company annual customer appreciation barbecue was what he had in mind...somehow I had always avoided accompanying him to those, but he informed me I was in for a real treat. And besides, he thought I really should know where our feed is coming from!

The weather couldn't have been better...the meal was excellent...and I was pleasantly surprised to find out I wasn't the only female there for lunch.

Ritchie-Smith Feeds is celebrating their 40th anniversary...so they put on a bigger-than-usual party.

They gave away tons of prizes...but I don't think this was one of them!

We met friends, neighbours...and relatives. Oh yes...and even my good bloggy friend, Lovella. We had a lot to talk about...

...and somehow we never noticed that everyone else had gone home!

Not only was it a great birthday lunch for Elmer, but I had a fine time...and the next time one of these trucks pulls into the yard, I'll know where it's coming from.

The kids are planning a birthday party for their dad on the weekend...I'm wondering what they'll dream up that could top today's bash!

  1. Judy. . .that was so fun. . visitng. . eating half a chicken .. .and enjoying the sunshine.
I was still smiling later thinking back to the conversation where we realized that we had been at the same wedding in Alberta years ago .. and probably just smiled at one another. . .not really knowing one another. . . that would never happen now.

  4. I'm glad that you know where your feed is coming from Judy. It's hard to keep up to those farmers and the changes they make with feed companies and of course you could not of had better company.
    Have a wonderful day.
I'm off to beat my sister at tennis.

  5. What a great way to meet up with Lovella and her dh. And, if Elmer enjoyed his day that's all that matters. You made me laugh with that comment about not realizing that everyone had gone home. You guys need to get together more often!
