fall fare

It's fall...
time for soups and breads...
cakes and cookies...
and comfort foods of all sorts.

I'm sharing a few 'fall fare' pic's today...

I have previously posted all four photos on the Mennonite Girls Can Cook blog.
Feel free to click on any of the links for the recipe.

In other news today...
we at Mennonite Girls Can Cook are hanging up our work aprons...

...and donning some fancy-schmancy ones for our new Celebrations cookbook.
being made public today.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

the setting sun...His signature

The sunrise is God's greeting...
the sunset, His signature.

Here on the west coast we have had the most beautiful weather this September...
and every evening as the sun sets we enjoy the work of God painted across the western sky.

I thought I'd pick a few sunset pic's from my files today...
from places far and near...
and join Vee's note card party.
They have all been posted on 'My Front Porch' over the past few years.

where the sun sets over the circles of stones just as it has for thousands of years.

Is it so small a thing...to have enjoyed the sun?

Time For Ice-Cream

Summertime is upon us.
It's time to eat ice-cream with reckless abandon!

An ice-cream cone can solve any problem...
even if only for a few minutes.

My advice to you is not to inquire why or whither,
but just enjoy the ice-cream while it's on your plate.
~Thornton Wilder

A balanced diet is an ice-cream cone in each hand!

Ice-cream is happiness condensed.

And if you don't get your full fix of ice-cream in the summertime...
I know from a reliable source that an ice-cream cone at Christmastime is a good thing as well!
