What fun we had...
on a shopping excursion with two 'very important people' in our life.
Emme and Spencer had a birthday recently...
and our gift to them was to let them pick out their own gifts.
They knew exactly where they could get the best bang for their buck...
...and that's where we went.
Here's the thing...
none of us noticed the sign they were kneeling in front of.
It was all about the dog!
We were all in for a pleasant surprise when we learned of the sale...
at the check-out counter!
I had a few guidelines from their mom.
~Don't let Spencer come home with more hoodies
~Emme needs pants...not leggings
Simple, right?
Spencer found some nice jeans and a sweater...
and had enough left in her budget to buy a hoody:)
Emme chose jeans and t-shirts...
and one pair of leggings.
Grandpa had his Kindle along...
and found a soft chair...
and was quite OK with the shopping trip.
Funny...
I do not remember that he ever came along to shop for clothes when his daughter was young.
And since we discovered our huge savings at the check-out counter...
we decided we should go out to eat on the way home.
They knew exactly where we should go...
and so we did.
The Olde Spaghetti Factory!
And from the back seat...
they give instructions as to what music we should play.
they give instructions as to what music we should play.
The kind that's great for singing along.
They are suggesting we might consider geting a Taylor Swift cd sometime though.
They sure make it fun to be a Grammy!
Cute, "no hoody, no legging". Grammys can take liberties as long as the basics are taken care of. You will always be in the hearts of those girls. It was good for a morning chuckle. Martha
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! What a great surprise at the checkout. How often does that happen? Glad you had enough left to go out, too. Sounds like it was fun for everyone...
ReplyDeleteSuch fun! You are a wonderful grammy! And those are wonderful granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteAwwww - what a sweet post Judy! Those grands picked the right grammy!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks and sounds like you all had a great day out...even Grandpa with his Kindle :)So nice that they managed to have enough cash left over for those favourite items too!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, greetings from Northern Ontario. I'm just stopping by to say how delightful your blog is. Thanks so much for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris

So cute! How lovely to do that!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun! Love how it doubles with twins! Sometimes I don't appreciae the buy one get one 50% off... what if I only want one? but for twins it's perfect.
ReplyDeleteSo cute to take the Grands shopping...how much more fun...when you get to spend on them...Looks like Gramps knows how to have fun with the kids too..Why not?
ReplyDeleteThat just looks like the most fun! I love that sign...perfect for twins..What a blessing those two sweet hearts are to you...and the rest of us love them too.
ReplyDeleteOh I am grinning from ear to ear. I can't imagine having to listen to too much Taylor Swift, though I can think of worse things. Hope that Emme got some great pants and that Spencer wasn't bowled over by another great hoodie. Hmmm...I'm thinking that John may need a Kindle.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet and happy girls! They are always smiling so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI know I will enjoy shopping with my future granddaughter one day, Judy! I already am buying pretty things for her :)
There is a Olde Spaghetti Factory in Denver and my grandsons also enjoy eating there.
This is such a fun post! Makes me excited for the days when my little girls want to shop for their own gifts and that their grandpa and his Kindle go along for the ride:) Please let them know, just if they are interested, that Taylor Swift grew up my nearby town.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are adorable!
