here comes the rain...

After the longest dry spell recorded in our area...
the rain is coming.
if the weatherman is right.
Though we need the rain desperately...
I must say we have enjoyed the sunshine...
and all things outdoors...
this summer.

On this Friday...
I will leave you a few photographic memories from this past week.

The morning fog...

and an evening walk along the river.

Once the fog lifted...
clouds of dust replaced it as the tractors made their way through the fields.
Clouds of dust in October...most unusual!
The winter wheat is seeded...
and waiting for a little moisture to germinate.
Come spring...
it will be ready to harvest.

We sat on the patio and ate outdoors.

And we sat on our friends' patio and enjoyed nachos together one night.
Nachos never look quite that special at my place!

And most every evening...
we enjoyed the beautiful sunset.

I treasure the memories.
The rain is coming!

Have a wonderful weekend...

  1. Exquisite photos each one as lovely as the last, though the one with the spun gold and birds rising into the air is certainly going to prove to be a memory to savor. And how long is this rain supposed to last?

  2. You live in such a beautiful spot with the fields backed by the mountains. Gorgeous photos. Love the first one! I'm glad you had such a great summer/fall but I guess the rain is needed by now. Enjoy the weekend! Blessings, Pamela

  3. Beautiful photos Judy but now all I can think about are those nachos!!

  4. I do love the fog against the mountains. Well, it started raining here, so I'm sure you're wet there by now. The sunshiney days are just memories. And we do so need the rain. God provides what is needed.

  5. Enjoy your rainy day, Judy! It is often a welcome break to sit and listen to the rainfall. I loved all your beautiful photos!

  6. Lovely pictures...especially like the fog one! Glad you've had some good outdoor fun. Hope you can enjoy the rain now!

  7. What beautiful photos. BTW, my mother always said the food looked and tasted better at someone else's house because she didn't have to prepare it! I must say, the nachos do look great....maybe I'll have to make some soon.

  8. Oh my - gorgeous photos!! we had our beautiful weather in July - it's been a little more rainy and humid this fall. And tomorrow? really cold - maybe even snow . . . and then back up to 18 next week. Go figure!

  9. Your photo's are beautiful and I expect you are glad of some rain after such a long dry period. I just spent a week in the West Country of UK and it rained all week...nothing new there!

  10. Such beautiful photos Judy. We just don't see the sunset here and I love seeing it through your eyes! That rain sounded just wonderful last night with the open window.

  11. The views are gorgeous, Judy.
Each morning this past week I drove through just such a mist to get to work - so mysterious. We've had rain today too, and it is very welcome!

  12. Beautiful beautiful pictures and truly representative of our fall. What a treat to have had the long dry fall in order to get the work on the farm done. I think this is one of the first years ever that we didn't have to fight the rain in order to get the corn in. We have experienced wonderful garden produce as well. So much to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing.

  13. Beautiful photos, the morning fog one is my favorite...just soooo serene!

  14. wonderful pictures Judy - so indicative of Fall in the valley. The fog made for some incredible images and the sunsets were spectacular.

  15. Even with your lack of rain, your pictures are most beautiful! The one of the sunset is of course my favorite. I do pray the rain did come as predicted. Rain is such a gift from God.
