That could only mean someone is graduating, right?
And someone was!
That someone was our sweet grandgirlie, Maggie...
standing next to her favorite friend in the pink dress.
'Graduation is only a concept.
In real life every day you
graduate.
Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of
your life.
If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference.'
~Arie Pencovici
I couldn't help but notice that Maggie and her friend wore wrist corsages.
Too cute!
As I recall...
grad ceremonies are long and boring and feature one speech after another.
Not so in pre-school grad ceremonies.
We were entertained from beginning to end...
by the graduates!
They sang their favorite songs...
and did the actions with enthusiasm.
And each one stepped up to receive their certificate.
We clapped.
Lucy clapped...
and clapped some more...
for her sister.
'What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.'
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
And before the clapping died down...
there were caps flying through the air...
and diplomas being used as horns.
Now where did they learn that?
'There is a good reason they call these ceremonies 'commencement exercises'.
Graduation is not the end, it's the beginning.'
~Orrin Hatch
Pre-school grad...
a milestone on the journey!
Maggie...
I'll leave you with a verse to take with you as you go forward from here.
I’ll show up and
take care of you as I promised and bring you back home.
I know what I’m
doing.
I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon
you...
plans to give you the future you hope for.
Jeremiah 29:11
The Message
Loved this! Congrats to your little cutie!
ReplyDeleteAwwww...how'd Maggie get this grown up so fast? Reminds me that two years ago we were here with Sam and just last year with Jake. Now they'll be first and second graders. Oh my! And Maggie is moving on up to kindergarten! Yay! Love those corsages...very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie! Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my faves - I love The Message version.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a fun kind of grad...not so boring as you said. Fun to see Maggie growing up right in front of us and watching Lucy from behind. Great quotes to go along with your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! I think that teacher handing out diplomas looks familiar from the preschool teacher I saw last year.
ReplyDeleteOh so sweet. Love all those quotes, too. You are right most graduation ceremonies are way too long and oh so boring. This one looked like fun!
ReplyDeleteWrist corsages? So cute! Looks like a fun taste of grad events yet to come for her!
ReplyDeleteAh, so very sweet!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Maggie and her class look adorable. I remember the days that our two 'graduated' from their little kindergarten. So long ago now but the memory is a sweet one too.
ReplyDeleteSuch anticipation in the eyes of sweet little Maggie. She has the world ahead of her and the knowledge that she is loved by family who help her celebrate her big day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious post for your dear Maggie. How wonderful even at this age to instil the truth that God does have a special plan for her life. Great qoutes and scriptures along with a really fun day filled with memories. How nice of Lucy to cheer on Maggie:)
ReplyDeleteWhat joy to share milestones with these precious little ones. The verse you shared sure does bring comfort to the heart, as they embark on their journey in life. The wrist corsages were so cute!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! My oldest grandson enters pre-K this fall -- they grow so fast!
