celebrating their marriage...

Some weeks ago...
my nephew Jamison married Paulina at an intimate wedding ceremony in Ucluelet.

On Saturday night they hosted a reception for family and friends.

They came in their wedding finery.
I was hoping they would!

What a fun party it was!

 The sun was out.
The gardens were inviting.

The guests played Bocce...
young and old.
Last June my dad was hospitalized after being struck by a pick-up truck.
A broken hip called for hip replacement surgery.
Who knew that he would be walking without aid one year later...
and even playing Bocce at 90 years of age?

The fabulous meal was a breakfast buffet...
the couple's favorite meal.

It came complete with crepe bar...
and even a cereal bar...
featuring the favorite cereals of the guests.

I've never had a breakfast buffet in the evening before...
but I quite liked it!

Can you tell that the kids enjoyed themselves?

Maggie was quite thrilled to have her picture taken with the bride.
Lucy reluctantly got into the picture. :)

The kids left early.
The party carried on until all hours.
A good time was had by all!

Jamison and Paulina...
we wish you much happiness as you go through life together...
as husband and wife.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

  1. What a fun reception! I'm so glad the weather was perfect for it. I enjoy breakfast anytime of day so that would suit me just fine to have it in the evening. Your dad is a real trooper at 90. I hope you have more sunshine this week. Blessings, Pamela

  2. What a fun way to celebrate such a joyous occasion!

  3. What a lovely day for you all.
How marvellous that your Dad is so well now, you must be very happy to see him playing Bocce!
I've never had a breakfast buffet that wasn't at breakfast!

  4. Glad to get an update on your dad! Wow! Such good news!
A breakfast buffet: Great idea! They look like such a sweet fun couple! Blessings on them and their life together.

  5. What joy! So wonderful to see your dad so active! Weddings and receptions are much more personalized than they were years ago. It looks like such a fun time for everyone.

  6. Looks like a time of fun for young and old...May God continue to bless this young couple and keep them safe from the evils that our world may throw them.
If your dad can play Bocce ball at 90, I expect to see you playing tennis.

  7. What a great party! So happy to hear your Dad is doing well, that is amazing :-)

  8. I love that the couple chose their favourite meal to serve their guests. They really made it a party. So glad that the weather was good for the games, and it's so good to hear that your dad has healed so well and is still joining in the fun.

  9. That is just so cool on so many that your dad is doing so well...look at him! Amazing. And the bride and groom are so cute and may they be very happy all their lives through. I remember your saying about the breakfast for their favorite that, too. And Lucy is so willingly captured for the photo...I mean, you could fool me. It must be like having one's photo taken with The Princess.

  10. Looks like a great relaxing party for sure! That breakfast bar sounds delicious. Your dad is amazing...

  11. Such a wonderful celebration and great fun had by all!

  12. What a great idea! Sounds and looks like fun! Lovely bride...and little girls!! :-)

  13. Another post that makes me smile. what a fun meal to serve to guests. One of our kids had breakfast served at lunch but at supper is even more fun! Wishing your family a wonderful marriage!

  14. What a good looking couple, it looks like a fun time was had by all!!! Many blessings to them as they begin their journey as a couple!

  15. Crepes any time, for sure! Beautiful blessing!

  16. What fun that must have been! I like the idea of treating guests to one's favourite thing - and breakfast in the evening is really different! The bride is so beautiful!

  17. The idea of serving breakfast for dinner, works for me. I looks like so much fun to see the young and older men participating in games together. What a lovely celebration! You and your family seem to excel in lovely occasions.

  18. What a wonderful way to celebrate a marriage with extended family and friends. Breakfast at dinner sounds like fun! Wishing the new couple a long, loving, marriage full of blessings.
