a postcard from Virginia...

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River.
Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze.
Country roads, take me home to the place I belong.
West Virginia, mountain momma, take me home, country roads.

I've been singing along with John Denver.

We are enjoying the journey...

  1. You've got me singing - love that song. We're heading South this weekend (Kentucky) and am so glad to see that the leaves are till in full colour - so beautiful.

  8. Lovely song, but you were in Virginia not West Virginia when you were singing it, perhaps?! That's okay, we like it and sing it in Virginia also!!! :-) You will be traveling a county next to mine when you travel the Blue Ridge Parkway through southwest Virginia.
