heading south...

We waited until the sun had set yesterday...

...and then raided the grand's 'tickle trunk'.

We had deliveries to make...
and decided to go incognito.

We are leaving town for a bit...
and will be missing three of the grand's birthdays and 'trick or treat' day.

So we thought we should deliver a few treats before we left town.

It seems they recognized our 'get-up'...
though I can't imagine why.
Even little Lucy thought it was quite a hoot!

They were happy for the treats...
but can't quite figure out why we are leaving town at such an inopportune time!

The birds are heading south...
in search of warmer climes.
We are following them!

I'll send a postcard or two while we are away.

Enjoy the weekend...

  2. Believe me, if I could get out of Dodge over this particular event, I would! It makes me chuckle, though, to think of the grands' response to your leaving. Of course, they simply can't understand it!

Have a blast and thank you for these exquisite photos. They almost make me wonder why you'd leave now in the golden days of autumn. November somehow seems more likely, but then aren't you glad that I don't plan your itinerary? LOL!

  7. That sounds like fun! I've only ever been to CA once, and that was just a quick trip to the San Luis Obispo area. I'll be wanting to chat with you on your return, as I have an idea that CA might be a good destination for us in the winter. Bon Voyage!

  10. If your non-Canadian readers google "tickle trunk" they might get the wrong idea, lol. This is what is meant by a tickle trunk..........there was a Canadian children's show on TV for many years, called "Mr. Dressup", and the host always had a trunk full of dressup clothes which he called his "tickle trunk". I was hoping you would have posted a picture of your costumes, now that would have been a hoot!

  11. You deserve a warm relaxing time away...to read, to share, to eat...to walk, to play tennis and enjoy the dining...I'm hoping you left the kitchen behind.
    We will catch up later.

I love the photo of the birds caught with the light on their wings. Lovely.
