like the birds...

Are they coming or going? They seem to be a little confused...

...but since they are seagulls...and since the rain seems to have settled in for good...I think they are here to stay.

I also don't know if I'm coming or going at the moment! The plan is to head search of a wee bit more summer. But going away always means a ton of things to look after before one leaves the that's what I'm busy with today.

We are leaving the home fort farm in good hands! With the cropping done for the year...the machinery washed and seems like a good time to escape. Why...there's hardly a thing left to do, except feed and milk all those cows a few times a day.

Things may be a little quiet on 'my front porch' for the next while! Who knows...I may just check in from time to time.

It rained for most of the day yesterday...but just before total darkness settled in we had an amazing sunset. I grabbed the camera and got a few shots of the birds sailing into the sunset...while the rain poured down around me.

So you all take care, and I'll join the flocks heading south!

  1. Happy trails, Judy! Hope that you are able to share some of your journey with us as you travel along. I'll miss spending time here on your front porch and, wait a minute, wait a minute...won't Maelyn be all grown up by the time you get back? Ackkk! How can you leave? LOL!

  2. Enjoy your trek South and if you find your way our way, do stop by and I'll put the kettle on!
    We're in the book...

  3. Judy, yesterday was one of those rare days that I leave my camera at home. . .sometimes that thing doesn't know when to stop so it needs to stay at home. . .
anyways, the whole way out out to see our kids, there was a double rainbow, the brightest one I've ever seen, I groaned and moaned the whole way. . using my cell phone. . to try to take pictures. .. so, I smile when I see that you caught exactly the sunset I was trying to catch as we came up onto the overpass.
Oh. . do have a wonderful time. . .and yes, pop in now and then to see what is happening at home.
I'll miss your daily posts, but I'll really appreciate them when you return.

  4. Have a wonderful time on your search for a bit more summer. I feel certain you will find some sun and warm breezes to enjoy.

  5. Enjoy your well earned rest and relaxation, Judy! I wish you safe travels an abundance of beautful skies, warmth and flowers when you go south.

    Hugs, Pat

  6. every working blogger needs a wee bit of a break, enjoy your time and don't forget to stop by and say hi....bless you in what ever you do and where ever you are. we look forward to your posts when you come back!

  7. Have a super getaway, Judy! It's always nice to extend the warm weather. We have had a beautiful fall and today I could hardly believe the good weather..didn't need a jacket!
Will miss your posts and am looking forward to your pop-ins!

  8. I pray you have a great trip. You will probably need to go pretty far south to find summer. It's kind of chilly all the way down in Georgia. You must be excited to go on a new adventure. Don't stay away from your blog too long. Hugs

  9. Enjoy your time away. I'll miss your posts! Will look forward to hearing and seeing parts of the adventures you will have. Your sunset photo is beautiful. Fly with the birds and enjoy! Kathy
