I just learned after six years of blogging...
that there is an unspoken rule that you never blog about the same place twice.
Well...since the rule has been broken time and again over here...
let me break it again!
I was at Minter Gardens...
...again!
By now you know there are a few things I never tire of.
Friends and flowers!
And so I returned to Minter Gardens on Monday...
to meet a new/old friend.
Guess who?
Pamela...
a blogging friend from New Brunswick...
who happens to be in my corner of the world visiting family.
She hardly seemed a stranger to me!
We had a wonderful afternoon...
strolling the gardens and chatting about...
this, that and everything.
Like old friends do.
And playing with our cameras...
of course.
Pam's blog is called
where she shares her life on the east coast...
in techni-colour!
Check it out...
you won't be disappointed.
I'm so glad it worked out for us to meet up that way!
As we left the gardens...
and passed through the gift shop...
this sign caught my eye.
I like that!
So true.
On this Wednesday I am thankful for flowers and friends.
In particular...
I am most thankful for my best friend...
who is celebrating his 42nd wedding anniversary today.
With me,
of course!

Happy Anniversary to Elmer! And you too!
ReplyDeleteI am of the opinion that no garden is ever the same from one day to the next, so one may freely blog garden visits repeatedly.
Pam is wonderful about capturing and sharing her world with her camera. How super to meet her at Minter!
Happy anniversary! 42 years! That's wonderful! Beautiful place btw, certainly worth multiple mentions. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to take a second, or third, or even fourth, look at!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to a great couple! You will always be ahead of us by two years, but I think everyone needs a great example to follow!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have met with Pamela. I wished I could have been there too, but it just didn't work out. I can imagine the conversation between new-old friends!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Oh how wonderful to meet a friend in such a beautiful place as this. You can post about these gardens again and again and I will not tire either! One day I hope to visit that place too.
ReplyDeleteOh boy 42nd!! Congrats to the two of you and may God bless you with many many more years together.
ReplyDeleteWhat?? I can't blog about the same place twice?? I'm sure I've broken all the bloggy rules.
Happy Anniversary! How neat that you and Pamela could meet and take in the gardens as you shared life and took some pretty pictures. I always like how you take time to build friendships and...smell the flowers.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your best friend! Gee, I didn't realize blogging came with rules so I'm sure I've broken every single one. Oh well. Thank you for sharing this beautiful location with us (again!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and Elmer! May God bless you with many more. I must say I really enjoyed meeting you and touring these beautiful gardens. I'm so glad you suggested it. It is wonderful to meet blog friends and get to know them more in person. Thank you for a lovely afternoon! Blessings, Pam
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Elmer and Judy - May you enjoy today and many more years to come.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to share one of your favourite places with a new/old friend. Welcome to Chilliwack Pamela! You picked out one of our best citizens to befriend.
It looks like Minter Gardens should give you honorary garden pass for promoting their beautiful gardens and bringing the most visitors. Sorry I missed walking through the gardens with you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and keep enjoying your years together. I know you will.
Oh dear, I've broken that rule many times. I'm going to pretend I didn't read it at all.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and Elmer - may the years ahead be filled with much love.
How great that you could meet Pamela! I enjoy her blog.
So nice that you got to meet this "old, new" friend and to take her to one of your favorite places! Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby!!
ReplyDeleteYou just keep returning to whatever subject you wish to blog about and we will keep enjoying your writing. It doesn't get old or repetitive. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that rule applies to the subjects of flowers, friends, family or food. At least I hope not.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you and Pamela were able to share Minter Gardens together.
A belated Happy Anniversary to you and Elmer.
I'm late to wish you a happy anniversary. Hope that it was a very happy one! (Have I told you somewhere in the six years of blogging time that I always enjoy your turn of a phrase. You're the queen of them!) Now I had no idea that we can't blog about the same place twice...I'm sunk!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you and Pamela got to meet one another. Friends from opposite coasts, but with so many things in common.
First of all, I want to apologize for sharing the "blog rule" that I read of recently, and that is not to blog about the exact same thing twice. I really should not have mentioned it, but I guess I thought I was probably the only one that did not know that and you all would be wondering why I did what I did:) But, Judy quite honestly, you can blog about any of the things you do three or four times, especially your visits to Minter Gardens. What true beauty those pictures hold! And, what fun to spend that time with a good friend. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to the two of you! So thankful that God brought you together. Wishing you many more years to enjoy each other.
What fun to meet Pam! I read her blog often as I can. Minter Gardens is so beautiful -- so sad this is its last year. :(
ReplyDeleteAww, how nice to meet your friend! You can show the same gardens over and over again, I never tire of hearing about friends & flowers!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!
I was just reading Pamela's post and decided to come and pay you a visit. This garden looks so beautiful and I have also enjoyed seeing photos of your travels in other posts. They make me want to head out on a road trip!
