the aroma of the season...

It seems I have been using a lot of ginger recently.

If it's not for the gingersnaps...

...then it's the ginger reindeer cookies that the grands made last week.

We have also enjoyed warm gingerbread cake with lemon sauce and whipped cream a few times.

There is ginger in the 'warm apple spice' beverage...
...and the spice candle that is burning smells somewhat of ginger.

We won't be having any motion sickness, dizziness or nausea around here...
ginger combats all of those symptoms and more.

Ginger...it's all good!
Especially at this time of the year.

  1. Those reindeer are so very cute. I was thinking of making them myself this year. This is baking weekend - I have much to do.

  2. It must smell delightful at your place. Your gingersnaps looks so good. I found myself wanting to take a bite.
My day will be spent baking cookies and working on Christmas cards.

  3. We should perhaps invent ginger bracelets and necklases. .but boy..threading those little peppernuts to wear about the neck could be gruelling.
Those reindeer are so cute. .did you but them out or just form a triangle roll?

  4. Lovella...the cookie dough is rolled into about a 6" circles which are each cut into 6 wedges. Each wedge forms a reindeer (we rounded off the corners a wee bit). You can use sugar cookie dough, chocolate cookie dough or gingerbread.

  5. Luuuuuv ginger...I put ginger in my lentil soup last night...but it didn't look as cute as your reindeer! I like Lovella's idea of the peppernut necklace (instead of a candy necklace) My dremel could easily drill holes into the peppernuts! I'm on it!

  6. The girls and spouses are coming up this weekend (unless we go down for the baby's birth) and gingerbread with lemon sauce is on the menu. Such a wonderful dessert!

  17. I want to sit down to your pretty table with a cup of coffee and that amazingly good looking gingerbread cake. I can almost smell the ginger in the air. I know we would have fun sharing grandparenting stories. A fun break in my busy morning...thank you!
