Our Light this Christmas

If things are looking pretty dark in your corner, it could be because yesterday was actually the darkest day of the year. Or it could be because of conflicts and struggles...or bad news you just received.

Well here's the good news...Jesus Christ is our Light in a dark world. He gives us the courage and strength to face whatever challenges we are up against. He gives us His peace despite the harshness and realities of this life.

He does not remove us from the stresses and sorrows of this life, but in the middle of the conflicts and challenges we face this Christmas, He gives us His peace...he gives us hope...He is our Light.

Christmas is not a retreat from the real world...because of Christmas we can face the real world with our Prince of Peace. Let's allow His light to lead the way in the darkness.

  1. You are right Judy, in the midst of a dark night, Jesus was born. He is Emanuel, God with us. He is our Peace. The Prince of Peace. I am facing some serious health issues in the new year - Isaiah 41:10 says "So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righeous right hand. (I wonder why it mentions God's right hand) There are so many verses of great promise in scripture that we can cling to in times of difficulty. Thanks Judy, I needed that reminder.
    Love you always. Martha

  2. That gorgeous moon woke me at about 3:30 this morning...it was shining on my face so brightly.

I've been thinking about this very thing lately...He's not going to take us "away" from it all; He's going to take us "through" it all. Very different!

Thank you for your wise words. I always love spending time here.

  3. I love this picture...it has captured the essence of what I have been seeing most recently on my compute to Hope and back, usually in the dark....sometimes it is like the crisp white of the snow on the mountains speaks of the Creator, and a peace floods my soul. Such a great reminder of "God with us!" Thank you for sharing! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas Season. Elma
